On 11 August 2025, I had the privilege of guiding the Senior Secondary 2 students of The Rightly Guided Academy, Ikotun, through a remarkable experience, A Pre-IELTS proficiency test organised by Bestfrix Educonsults under the aegis of MOD/IELTS Nigeria.
Now, here’s the shocker: about 80% of these students scored 6.5, and this is even before completing the full IELTS training framework. Incredible, right? But this didn’t happen by chance; it is a clear testament to what happens when professional expertise meets commitment and the right learning strategy.
At Prolangue Academy, we have both the human and material resources to place any candidate on the threshold of success, regardless of their background. This is why forward-thinking schools are now embracing a better model – outsourcing specialised knowledge to professionals. Why? Because your regular English teacher, no matter how dedicated, might not have the technical depth required for high-stakes language proficiency exams like IELTS.
Why Professional Coaching Matters
Certifications in advanced education and years of practical experience are not just “extras” – they are a sine qua non for quality IELTS preparation. The IELTS test demands more than basic grammar drills; it requires strategic training across all four skills:
- Listening – Training in sound perception, diction, and mastering pronunciation dynamics.
- Reading – Techniques in paragraph development, referencing, and inference.
- Writing – Building coherence and cohesion using graphic organisers, interpreting visual data, choosing the right words for every context, and patterning ideas logically.
- Speaking – Confidence, fluency, and diction that reflects clarity and accuracy.
These are not skills you pick up casually; they demand structured methods and professional input, and that’s where Prolangue Academy stands out.

We Give Too
I recently coached Mariam, an indigent GRE candidate, through a four-week virtual English prep programme, completely pro bono. We focused on sentence completion, paragraph development, and persuasive writing using modern tools and strategies. Her transformation was remarkable: from hesitant answers to confident, well-structured arguments. This experience reinforces my belief that education is a service of humanity first.
