here are two main types: IELTS UKVI and Regular IELTS, both offered in Academic and General Training formats. While the test format, scoring, and difficulty are the same, the main difference lies in why and where the results are used.
IELTS UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) is required for visa applications to the United Kingdom. Whether you’re applying to study, work, or settle in the UK, this version meets the strict security and verification standards of the UK Home Office.
On the other hand, Regular IELTS is widely accepted in countries like Canada, Australia, the USA, and New Zealand for education, jobs, and migration. However, it’s not valid for UK visa purposes.
